How experience works:
Every character will have their experience earned by 'points'. These points are not the same as the dungeons and dragons values, though they are based off of them.

-Generally speaking; 1 point here equals one thousand points in dungeons and dragons terms.

There for, a level 5 character will need to earn 5 points to advance to level 6, and a level 20 character will have to earn 20 points to advance to level 21 etc etc.

Points are fairly easy to earn. Already there are a number of ways one can earn points as you will be just as responsible for advancing your character as a dungeon master is.

Generally, fighting monsters and doing creative writing with out a dungeon master around will bring you between 1 and 2 points, for a max of 3 if the scene is very well written out and providing challenge to the character involved.  Here we like it if a character is not invincible.  Sure some lesser monsters will fail at harming your character, but theses conflicts will award you less points if they can not challenge your character.

Another example is; sparring another player character, training with some one, teaching and learning skills to each other will earn you that day's lesson and progress to mastery of a new skill.  This will also provide between 1 and 2 points.

Story lines.

EVERY one is responsible for their own character's purpose and actions with in the lands of Xenthe. Initiative and creativity to not only advance your character, but the setting as well will award points based on the longevity, creativity, influence, and out come of the story line. Though points will be awarded at certain times through out the story line rather than one lump sum at the conclusion of such. Points vary on the story line at hand.

With this said, every one is welcome to encounter their own monsters three times per week, please send the logs of these monster fights to soccer_tim@hotmail.com as  he may not always be able to read the conflicts. For any questions, concerns, or criticisms for the way the site is run, please either whisper Veriden, or send him an email to the address listed above. He will do his best to smooth things out and see that knowledge is shared.

There are things people can do any number of times per week unlike monster conflict to earn points for character interactions.

The Job Board, found at the Nameless Tavern in the village of Nuduin has a number of things the people of the world (NPCs) are looking to have accomplished for them.
